"Until the End". Revolutionary Culture and Armed Insurgency in the Crisis of Francoism. (English)

Social scientists have often explained the emergence of armed struggle focusing on the «political opportunity structure». Instead of that, this paper tries to analyze the rise and consolidation of armed insurgency in Spain during the last years of Franco regime by considering the revolutionary culture in which the organizations that took arms were framed, as well as its political dynamics, regarded as a part of the general dynamics of anti-Francoism and of revolutionary left in particular. As for these dynamics, the relation of these militant groups with State policy --especially with repression-- is also considered. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Desde las ciencias sociales a menudo se ha explicado el surgimiento de la práctica armada otorgando una especial importancia a la «estructura de oportunidades políticas». El presente artículo trata, por el contrario, de analizar el nacimiento y asentamiento de este fenómeno en España durante los últimos años del franquismo prestando atención tanto a la cultura revolucionaria de la que bebían las organizaciones que tomaron las armas como a su dinámica política, contemplada dentro de la dinámica general del antifranquismo y de las corrientes de la izquierda revolucionaria en particular. En este último terreno son también tomadas en cuenta las interacciones de esos núcleos militantes con la política estatal, en especial en su vertiente represiva. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
