There is a constant reference to characteristics related to adulthood and not to youth within the research that uses the notions of man and masculinity. On the other hand, studies about youth vary even on the very conception of the term. This article suggests the use of young man as a new category for research work in social science. En las investigaciones que utilizan las nociones de hombre y masculinidad se encuentra una constante alusión a características relacionadas con la adultez y no con la juventud. Por otra parte, los estudios de juventud son diversos, incluso desde la concepción misma del término.
